Sea freight is on the decline!

Sea freight is on the decline!

2021 can be said to be the most difficult year for cross-border sellers, especially in logistics. Since January, the shipping space has been in a state of tension. In March, there was a big ship jam in Suez Canal. In April, major ports in North America frequently went on strike, customs clearance was delayed, and the container problem remained unsolved for a long time. With the accumulation of problems, sellers are faced with not only the delay of shipping schedule, but also the impact of price increase round after round.

According to the latest news, due to restrictions on sellers’ inventory in FBA warehouses in Canada and the United States, the demand of sellers for shipping space has decreased. Does this mean that the sea freight will decrease? According to the current information, the shipping company has booked the shipping space by the end of June, and the shipping space has been allocated by the end of May. Although the demand for shipping space has dropped a little, compared with the normal situation, the shipping space is still very tight, and the freight rate is far from returning to the pre-epidemic period.
